Roster of Arbitrators
The Board of Personnel Appeals as a regular part of its statutory obligation maintains a roster of qualified arbitrators to hear disputes arising out of collective bargaining agreement interpretation in the public sector – State of Montana, political subdivisions of the State, and school districts.
There is a growing emphasis on arbitration as an alternative form of dispute resolution in employment related grievance procedures and many other areas of disputes. The roster of arbitrators maintained by the Board is available for selection of qualified arbitrators in these areas as well. For this roster refer to the non-collective bargaining roster referenced on this page.
Biographical information, address, and fee schedules for each arbitrator listed in the Roster are available by clicking on the name below. If you wish the Board to generate a panel of arbitrators for your dispute that can be done by contacting Amy Smith – asmith@mt.gov or Tonya McCormack, tmccormack@mt.gov. There is no required form to submit, but your request must include the name, address, phone number and e-mail address for each party. You should also specify how many names should be on the panel and if there are other mutually agreed upon requirements, for instance, all from Montana, or all members of the National Academy of Arbitrators, etc. When the list is compiled the Board will send it to the identified e-mail addresses.
