Free Consultation Service for all Workplace Safety Needs
Identify problems before they become accidents. Workplace hazards have a direct impact on your employees and your business. The Montana Safety and Health Bureau offers safety consultations that are either comprehensive or limited to your specific needs.
There are no fees charged for the consultation nor are fines or penalties levied for any safety or health hazards observed during the consultation.

Our consultation services are confidential, conducted at no charge, and may include:
- Identification of accident trends and significant potentials.
- Explanation of requirements under the Montana Safety Culture Act.
- Assistance with regulatory compliance.
- Recommendations to control and eliminate hazards.
- Written program evaluation.
- Safety and health program development.
- Industrial hygiene services, such as noise monitoring.
- Hands-on training for health and safety topics.
- Education on personal protevtive equipment.
- Safety committees.
- Ergonomic evaluations.
- Safety brochures and materials.
With your cooperation and commitment an effective consultation will reduce workplace injuries and illnesses.
Private employers may request this service by contacting the Dept. of Labor and Industry, Occupational Safety and Health Bureau, at (406)444-6401. Consultations will be
scheduled on a first-come first-served basis with priority granted to small business employers in high hazard industries.

- Assist in eliminating workplace safety and health hazards.
- Help employers establish or strengthen an employee safety and health program.
- Supply employers with the tools to lower workers’ compensation costs by reducing workplace injury and illness.
- Aid in the eligibility process to participate in OSHA’s Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP).
