Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner Certification

Certification Application and Testing Requirements:

Each applicant for certification as a worker’s compensation claims examiner shall personally take and pass an examination.  A passing score of 80% or greater is required.  The applicant will be allowed 2 hours to take the exam.  The applicant will be provided with the current Montana Code Annotated (MCA) and the Administrative Rules of Montana (ARM). The applicant will also be provided with a study guide two weeks prior to the examination. An applicant may retake an examination as many times as necessary to pass the examination.  The examination fee must be paid for each examination taken.

The fees for processing an initial two-year certification shall be a $100 non-refundable per applicant and each examination fee will be a $75 non-refundable per application payable at the time of the application, totaling $175 non-refundable.
