Montana Department of Labor & Industry
The MOHSS Program is located within the Montana Department of Labor & Industry, Employment Standards Division (DLI-ESD). This division administers the worker-employer relationship, overseeing workers' compensation and labor law.Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services
The MOHSS Program works closely with epidemiologists at the Montana Department of Public Health & Human Services, Public Health and Safety Division (DPHHS-PHSD). This division includes the Epidemiology and Scientific Support Bureau (ESSB) responsible for tracking health data for Montana. MOHSS provides funding for the National Adult Blood Lead Epidemiology and Surveillance Program (ABLES) program, attends quarterly meetings on environmental health, and exchanges information with DPHHS staff regularly.National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
The MOHSS Program receives its funding and guidance from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, administered by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC-NIOSH). This federal agency conducts research and issues recommendations for preventing workplace injuries and illnesses. -

These Industry fact sheets use data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to provide information on employment and workplace safety within major Montana industries. They are updated bi-annually and focus on private sector employment unless otherwise stated.
